This is a 2023 reissue vinyl LP pressing of Standard Coltrane by John Coltrane. The American jazz composer and saxophonist originally released his album on October 2, 1962, via Prestige Records. Produced by Bob Weinstock, the album was recorded at Van Gelder’s studio in Hackensack, New Jersey. Coltrane is among the most influential and acclaimed figures in the history of jazz and 20th-century music. Decades after his death, Coltrane remains influential, and he has received numerous posthumous awards, including a special Pulitzer Prize, and was canonized by the African Orthodox Church.
